Benefits of SPORTS to Humans

It is believed that sports were originated by the Chinese when they invented Gymnastics as their way of entertainment. Years later, the Greek people were into different kinds of sports, like swimming and fishing, as evidenced by the different monuments of Greek pharaohs. After years had passed by, different kinds of sports became popular to Greek people, which include athletics. Few years later, the Greek created the Olympic games which involved running, jumping, throwing a javelin, and throwing a discuss. Today we can see that sports became part of human lifestyle, some people indulged in sports for fun and some for fitness.

Sports had given us plenty of benefits like in health and professionalism. As a health benefit, sports are one way of improving some health conditions like having high blood pressure, arthritis, and those individuals who were diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, which is a most common health problem among Filipino people. Examples of sports that are commonly indicated to health conditions includes tennis, swimming, mountain biking, and basketball. Aside from its health benefits it is also helpful to those individuals who are really inspired with their favorite sports because this can bring them to professionalism if they really want to push through with their goals. Some currently known Filipino individuals who belong to a poor sector of the society during their childhood were given fortune because of the sport they love. Just like the greatest Filipino boxer in the world “Manny Pacquiao” and the magician in the game of billiards “Efren Bata Reyes”. Both grew up with plenty of sufferings in life with their families, but because of their sport, they were saved out from being financially unstable.

Sports are God’s gift to man. Since, it can save the people from different violations in life. One example is saving the youth from drug addiction. As we can see there are now plenty of basketball courts in every village, aside from the recreational use, it can somehow divert the youth’s attention into sports rather than drug addiction. Some studies showed that this is a part of rehabilitation for drug addicts. Each one of us must have a sport, even if you are male or female dominated. There are plenty to choose from whether it is a land, water, aero, or indoor sports, since it gives us plenty of benefits from physical, biological, social, and evens up to the extent of professionalism. We have hidden potentials in different sports, but it is up to us how to unfold our talents.
